The artist house is an exploration, with the primary aim of redefining what a home could be. the house is not just to serve as a living space but also as a workspace/studio and a display space for said artist's work.

Since his debut in the early 1990's till right now, 01/01/2025, the true identity of Banksy remains unknown. although there has been many speculations no one has been able to reveal the true identity of the artistic genius.
The Precedent
The Moriyama house
the Moriyama house is an architectural statement that dissolves the adopted idea of what a house is meant to be.

It was designed by Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa of sanaa architects. In opposition to popularized design, they seperated each room of the house into its own self sufficient component. breaking the enclosure to create a community of rooms rather than a house.

The two main elements that make the Moriyama unique is the exposed circulation and the volumetric layout of the enclosures

by taking the space left by the circulation and rotating it 90 degrees then multiplying this plane across the site in the 9x12 grid. a system of walls is created.

if the modules extracted from the Moriyama house is then injected onto the walls then a system for creating enclosures is devised.
